50 Classical Guitar Pieces - In Tablature and Standard NotationReviewsfirst off about 80% of the songs are one page, thats right one page, which means you get the skeleton version of 80% of the songs, plus most of the songs are lame and boring, i wanted to find some great stuff that i would hear on Pepe Romero's Guitar Solos, but no it's just a bunch of generic guitar songs with no depth. I know my classical guitar music from pepe romero to segovia, so i'm not just ranting and raving here. Does anyone know where i can get tab for songs like: mallorca, op. 202 (barcarola)?? My brother loves this gift. Good to find a guitar book that has standard and tablature! I'm a self-taught guitarist who has played for 20 years and have mostly played lead guitar in pop/rock/blues bands as hobby. A few years ago I bought a nice classical guitar and decided to learn some pieces when I came across this book. Since then I have played almost every song in this book. There are a lot of short pieces that beginners will be able to play easily and some more challenging pieces for intermediate players. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn some classical guitar who doesn't read music (tablature is provided). Best for an intermediate player even though includes tab. I like this book, it is a good book for an advanced beginner or intermediate player but has plenty of challenges. My only wish is that it could include a CD so I could hear how the music is supposed to sound. However, since these songs are classics most student probably have a cd or two with many of these songs. I am glad I purchased this book. Its also priced right. This was the best music book that I have purchased over the past 25 years as a guitar player. I was hesitant to purchase a music book online and my expectations were low. Suprisingly though, it has provided a great selection of songs sorted chronologically by classical music historical periods together with those musicians with great influence on classical guitar. It was simple enough for a intermediate non-classical guitar player like myself and yet could be used by an advanced beginner or a very experienced guitar player. Today, I have learned 15 songs well and look forward to another 20 from this book in the coming year. Some of my best songs, from all styles of guitar playing, are now from this book. Many finger picking arrangements and styles are poor at best. The arrangements in this book are great. This book is well worth the money. Average Rating:![]() |

Fingerpicking Standards: 17 Songs Arranged for Solo Guitar in Standard Notation and Tablature (Guitar Solo)ReviewsI own a number of these Hal Leonard fingerpicking books, and this is one of my favorites. While I'm not a big fan of many of these songs (Yesterday is the exception) they are arranged beautifully. As the other reviewers have noted this book falls into the advanced beginner-intermediate skill level, but vary from song to song, so even if you are new there is something you can play. The nice thing about this book is that many of the songs are also piano standards, so I can play along with my wife. My only complaint is with this series in general, they repeat many of the same songs, "Yesterday" I estimate appears in 97% of the Hal Leonard books (ok maybe that's a slight exaggeration ;)) If you are looking for another excellent fingerpicking book to go along with this one, "Fingerpicking Beatles and Expanded Edition: 30 Songs Arranged for Solo Guitar in Standard Notation and Tab" is great as well. I recommend this songbook for any beginner/intermediate guitar player! The arrangements are challenging enough to help build your skills, but not so difficult that you would get discouraged. It's fun learning songs that are familiar to you. It makes you want to work harder to be able to play them proficiently. I own this book and Fingerpicking Pop and these are currently my favorite books to practice out of. I'm a beginning guitarist and have gone through a lot of songbooks for "beginners" and they just sound horrible because they are so simple. The songs are arranged so that they easy enough for me work with but complex enough that I'm not bored. Great learning tool! I also recommend The Very Best of Fingerstyle Guitar (Hal Leonard) which is sort of the same thing (has some of the same songs) but a little more difficult. Seventeen popular pieces of music ranging from great classics like "Georgia on my mind" to "What a wonderful world" and "Yesterday". The music is given to you in standard music score and in TAB (for non-music readers). The level of difficulty is easy-to-intermediate. Many of the songs are good for fingerpicking-guitar beginners. The arrangements are well done and sound good. This is one of my favorite books to practice with. I like the songs and the tab arrangements. They're difficult enough to challenge an advanced beginner/intermediate guitarist, but the songs are arranged easy enough to learn fairly quickly if you practice regularly. I wish the book had a CD or DVD version to be able to hear the tone used. Average Rating:![]() |

The arrangements in this book are carefully written for intermediate-level guitarists. Each solo combines melody and harmony in one superb fingerpicking arrangement. The book includes an easy introduction to basic fingerstyle guitar, and these fantastic songs: Can't Help Falling in Love * Fly Me to the Moon * Georgia on My Mind * I Could Write a Book * I Just Called to Say I Love You * I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face * In a Sentimental Mood * Just the Way You Are * Misty * Moon River * My Favorite Things * Unchained Melody * The Way We Were * What a Wonderful World * When I Fall in Love * Yesterday * You Are So Beautiful. |

Guitar Tablature Manuscript Paper 6 StaveReviewsThis tablature is what I expected it to be and is working out well for my son who is taking guitar lessons. The ony thing I misunderstood was that it's not loose leaf. It is in fact a tablature book with three ring binder holes. Handy tablature paper to have around when you're messing about on your guitar and you hit upon a catchy riff or chord progression that you want to keep for posterity. I like the fact that this paper is hole-punched, so when I'm done with a page, I can just tear it out and stick that in a 3-ring notebook. I have been looking everywhere for a book like this. This is exactly what my daughter's guitar teacher requested. These books are difficult to find in my area and I thank Amazon for carrying it. Average Rating:![]() |
