Guitar Chords (Chart) Music Poster Print - 24 Guitar Chords (Chart) Music Poster Print - 24" X 36"

I was drawn in by the "low" price. What I didn't notice was $7.99 shipping cost(very subtle) and the 4-5 days to "process" the order. What could possibly take so long to ship this? I'm thinking of canceling the order, with their processing speed I should have plenty of time to make up my mind.

This chart is horrible. It does not list the chords in chromatic order. Top row is A, second row goes down to A-flat, third row goes UP to B, then down to B-flat, so on. If that wasn't bad enough, the last three rows of the chart are F-sharp, G, and G-flat. I am not joking.

This is a poster with chords. It is what it says. Yes.

Reviews

I first watched this DVD after renting it from the library, and I absolutely loved it. The lessons are easy to understand and presented in a way that keeps your interested. I'm more of a visual guy and I learn better from people than books. I've had countless beginner books on how to play guitar, but I never stuck with them since they couldn't keep my interest and felt too "slow" for my learning style. While this DVD is not a magic pill fast track that will make you better overnight, it will keep your interest and make you feel like you're actually making progress with your playing. I've been playing guitar for a couple of years, but I've been self taught; I didn't know much more than basic chords. Even though I watched the DVD with at least some experience, I still found it very helpful. I also like that it's not entirely restricted to just acoustic guitar: I played an electric guitar at the time and still found it helpful. And now I have an acoustic, which makes it sound even better. So if you're a beginner and want to learn how to play, or someone who's strummed Green Day's "Time of Your Life" thousands of times over but never went farther beyond, I highly recommend this DVD. I plan on buying the beginner's electric guitar DVD made by the same guy, since I loved his lessons here so much.

Fairly easy to follow and great instructors. This makes learning the guitar "cool" by learning in your own home and a heck of a lot cheaper too than taking lessons!

I bought the "Learn to Play Acoustic Beginner" by House of Blues along with the Guitar World Acoustic Rock DVD; do yourself and your wallet a favor and just get the former. In fact, it may be the best one I have. There is a small book showing you the tabs, strumming patterns, and how to follow along. It also includes links to download a tuner, metronome, and background tracks to practice along to. If you have an acoustic and are teaching yourself, this is the one to get for chords. The instructor is easy to follow, unlike others where you end up trying to play catch-up. A note for beginners, when you are shown the chords, sit down and practice for 10-15 minutes before trying to play along. That's the way this is intended to work. And if you have a steel string acoustic guitar, you will need to practice a couple of weeks (two to four) before your fingers can handle the pain of learning acoustic.

I've been trying to learn on and off for a few months now and I would say this was a great place to begin looking. This DVD was very helpful and it goes along with a booklet you receive which makes tremendously easy to follow. You learn a lot of basic aspects of guitar playing (rhythm, strumming, finger picking etc.) You can certainly play a few songs by the end of this DVD. You should try it at your own pace and refer back to the DVD for guidance. I'd recommend it!

There are lots of self-teaching DVD's out there, but this one is really great and easy to follow along.

Good instructor. Slows it down enough to break out the finer points. The enclosed booklet is a plus.

Positive: Good instructor, relevant material, good pacing, access to additional web material. Negative: Somewhat peculiar choice of riffs, oddball example blues leads, nearly useless tabs with frequent errors and no indication of timing or rythm.

This is a great starting off point for those who want to learn the blues.

I have been playing guitar since 1983. For many years, I have been looking for an instructional device that will help me get to another level. Once I got past the firt couple of chapters that did not teach me anything new, the whole rest of it was EXACTLY what I have been looking for. For a beginner, the entire DVD is going to be a must. McCarthy is an excellent guitarist, who plays with a pleasant variety and doesn't sound at all generic. The overall architecture of these lessons has been so well planned, that the end-user is taken on an easy and enjoyable learning path. It's not exactly "the blues," but it IS the BEST instructions for learning rock guitar, which is founded from the blues anyway. Definitely buy this series, it's well worth every penny!

The content of the DVD has a lot of excellent and usefull information. The problem was the resources they referenced such as the support/member websites made it very hard to navigate, which made it hard to register and find the supporting information.

I like the music and diagrams. Pictures are great and it's easy to follow along.

Not too bad of a video but I need one little bit not too advance.. but great for people that learn at a fast pace..

great DVD to learn all the necessary basics in learning to play guitar. A must for any beginner. DVD is great with different camera angles, great teacher, etc..

I thought the dvd was good but in the middle I found myself rewinding and rewinding a ton just to understand and follow along. he does describe things very well still but goes a lil to fast. I recommend it for people who want to learn to play the electric guitar!

Really impressed with this DVD. Great instruction and the music is not outdated or boring. I've tried several learn to play guitar DVD before but this is the first one that really seems to keep me interested in coming back.

Guitar Method in the Style of the Beatles [VHS] Guitar Method in the Style of the Beatles [VHS]

Reviews

I found it somewhat disappointing that the video gives no direction in methods of obtaining sounds similar to those of the original Beatles recordings. Despite this shortcoming, for guitarists hoping to learn how to play some of the better-known licks of the Beatles, this video gives a broad sampling for far less than the cost of an hour of professional instruction. I found it to be of good value.

This tape consists of a guy hurrying through several well known licks. If there's any instruction here I don't see it. Worthless.

I completely agree with the first reviewer. All that I want to add is that I've tried a few of these "In The Style of..." videos, and all of them have been horrible. So this one isn't the only bad apple.

This video was completely disappointing and bordered on absurd. The picture and sound quality is poor; the video looks as if it was recorded by an amateur with low grade film and poor audio/video equipment. In addition, the "instructor" was poorly rehersed and his diction was terrible. His constant use of the words "thing" and "stuff" lends no credibility. Overall, the video has a high-school project type feel. The video claims that "on-screen tablature" is included when, in reality, two photocopied sheets of music are merely enclosed with it. While I will not criticize the "instructor's" ability, he certainly does not give "an in-depth study of the rhythm and lead guitar styles of George Harrison and John Lennon" which the video claims he will do. Instead, the "instructor" plays a number of riffs (actually referred to as #1, #2, #3...)two times each with minimal, and sometimes no, explanation. The instructor's "in-depth" observation of Paul's fingerpicking is that he picked with two fingers when he finger-picked.This video is neither useful for a beginner nor helpful for a someone more advanced. The beginner would have trouble keeping up with the video because the "instructor" does not explain what he is doing or how he is accomplishing the sound. The advanced guitarist will be completely frustrated because she or he will likely already know every piece of information the video provides and already know how to play each and every riff (especially if he or she is a Beatles fan).

I have a mess-o'-Man'lin Instruction books, dvd's, CD's, and books with the tabulature in it, and I had to try to follow when I have been playing the guitars, and Bass for 30+ years, and believe me, I have these in spades, so I share them as I do anything else, as not everyone is set up for the great and final (I hope, Blu-Ray)~! I was so tired of buying record players, and then tapes, Cassettes, but I am sure glad that I waited for the DVD and CD to finally take their proper spot before I drop dead w.o. learning my "MAN-LIN" as Bert Casey says "Mandolin"..he chops the "do" off, and so did I after playing along with the CD, DVD, and I bought a bevy of VHS tapes, (NO BETAs though)! These are just as good, easily rewound to the last lesson, and it has whatever the DVD and other disks have, so why throw the VCR's out?? This is one more way to get your friends in on a fad that is quickly growing in our vast country, and country or bluegrass just never leaves us, does it? So, I have and I buy more, as most of my friends and I are musicians, and we are not yet with "sound-rooms" with 1000 watts of power....(yet). So, while my wife was watching TV on the Front-room TV, I put in my VHS tape in my bedroom TV with two VCR's that I just re-purchased, as I stupidly threw them out. But, have you ever thought of how many folks still have VCR's of the VHS type??? All of my friends have them plus the Blu-Rays!! So I am learning very fast with my VHS while "wifey", Barbara watches her GEMS shows in the sitting room. This is one great set up! So I may not have given a 10 to this review, but, I do NOT give them out too easily anyway, and this is a ten (10) thought! Keep your VCR's as there are hundreds of thousands of these hanging around, and seeing that I sell on Amazon, I am not greedy and I like music and I am happy to spread these around for a minor cost, and $2.00 to ship...what else can a learner-player want?? I have my "SLAP-BASS" VHS tape and I am finally using the thumb and pluck method to jazz up my basses too. So, I will give this a higher mark than I had thought of giving it, as we cannot afford to get rid of working media. N~E~V~E~R~!~!~! Rick "Strings" Lauzon

I got this from a recomendation of a friend of mine that used it to learn to play guitar. He said it was SO MUCH easier than the lessons we tried to take to learn to play, and he was RIGHT. It doesn't bore you with playing the same chord over and over and you can play along with the guys on the DVD in like 20 minutes. It's AWESOME. Quick and easy. I am one step closer to being famous! HA!

I am so happy with this product! I bought it for my 13 year old son, and he's already playing along with the band on the DVD after one day of using it! I can't get him to put the guitar down, which was quite the opposite when he was taking lessons from a friend of the family. He is not frustrated with this approach and seems to find it easy and really fun. Fantastic!

I hadn't picked up a guitar in years and felt a little rusty. This program refreshed my memory and had me feeling comfortable with the strings again. This program's approach was clear and straight to the point. I wish I had had this when I FIRST learned years ago. AWESOME PRODUCT!

LeapFrog Learn & Groove Animal Sounds Guitar LeapFrog Learn & Groove Animal Sounds Guitar

Reviews

I got this for my youngest daughter since she likes almost anything that plays music. She liked it, but since it requires a stroke motion to get the most out of it, she didn't get into it to much. She's 1 1/2. My older daughter who is almost 3, enjoyed it much more and usually plays with it when she sees it. It will not entertain her for long periods, but it does for a short while.

We've had this guitar for about a year now. It's cute enough, but the phrases get really annoying after a while. Every time my son spins the dial, it says "Let's jam!". That was OK the first 40 times, but does it have to say this every time?? I also wish the animal sounds were a little more realistic and that it had a few more modes of play. OK for the money though.

My son holds this thing like he is rocking out and just dances and dances. He got it as a present for his first Christmas and we had to take it away from him because he wouldn't pay attention to anything else the entire day. Six months later he still picks it up and dances with it while pressing all the buttons. It's adorable. The educational part of it is kinda stupid. He totally isn't going to learn his animal sounds or counting from this toy. It's nice that LeapFrog tried. He just likes the music part of it though.

Fun toy for a while, didn't really keep the attention of my nephew for too long. But he did love playing it!

My son is obsessed with guitars. Ever since my husband started playing all he wants is guitars. He got a little wooden toy guitar for Xmas and didnt part with it for the nex 2 weeks, in which time he destroyed it - literally from banging every single surface with it. So, now in time for his first birthday I looked around for a more durable guitar for him. I was a little concerned that it doesnt look much like a guitar, but to my son it does. He LOVED it from the first moment he saw it. Its his favorite toy, no doubt, and it is pretty durable so far it hasnt broken at all, and he drops it a lot, because it is a little bit too heavy for a 12 month old. Thats really my only complaint, but I expect that within a few weeks, he would have worked it out, and he'll only love it more. It talks in English and Spanish, and you can switch it from counting, letters, and melodies. Its really nice.

I was so disappointed in the fact that the guitar didn't come with any picks or a strap- I didn't realize it when ordering, or I would have ordered that, too. My son had trouble holding it without the strap... when I finally got around to buying those items, I showed the guitar to my brother, who has been playing for 30 years, and he said it didn't stay tuned. once you play a chord, it goes out of tune. I'm not thrilled, to say the least.

this book is good, but it is hard for kids to understand.me being only 11 i didn't understand very much. i think u should get a guitar teacher insted.

We purchased this book for my daughter with her guitar. She is a bright girl and had a very hard time understanding it. Even we didn't understand much of it and we have played instruments!I would pass on this book and purchase one from a musical instrument store.

The book itself it pretty good, but the CD has some flaws. The first track is to tune your guitar. It would have been better to make each string a different track to tune each separately, but instead it gives you three plucks to tune each string from the lowest to the highest note. If you need more time however, you end up starting over, and this can take a very long time to get through! There is no actual instruction on the CD, it must be used with the book as it is just musical accompanyment and demonstration of the chords, no words. It would have been nice if the book came with a pick. The guitar didn't come with one either, so now I have to find a music store to purchase one.

Piano and Keyboard Method V2.0 Piano and Keyboard Method V2.0

If you have a keyboard that can hook directly into your PC through MIDI or USB, then this is a must have teaching program. I absolutely love it. I have already gotten through the first 43 lessons and it has helped me a lot so far. I could already read music a little and could tell you where the keys are on the keyboard, so it only helped solidify this for me, but it has helped improve my music reading significantly. I love how it can tell you exactly what you have played wrong when you are hooked up to the PC. It will tell you the percentage of how well you did and whether you played the wrong note or played the note too soon or too late. It has helped me a lot with my timing. I can't wait to go further. It goes through both the beginners and the intermediate lessons, so there is a lot to learn.

I'm the kind of person that gets really uncomfortable learning a new skill from a qualified instructor without having any previous knowledge of said skill. I was really interested in learning the piano so I chose this product. I'm glad to say it is a great tool. Two of my family members who are pretty good on the piano are amazed at the progress I'm making. The software layout is great in giving you the ability to go at your own pace. It always you to continue working on problem areas while skipping those you excel at. The structure of the lessons is great and easy to understand. I recommend this product to anyone interested in learning piano or anyone who is shy about learning as I am.

Great product (Which I bought directly from Amazon), but...when looking for the Midi USB interface I noticed that Amazon was selling the SAME software but WITH the USB MIDI at $20 less!!! [[ASIN: B002MUALQ4 ]] Turns out that there are Piano and Keyboard METHOD which has 300 lessons and Piano and Keyboard BASICS which only has 50 lessons. Amazon sells the BASICs (50 lessons) software BUT with the MIDI USB interface at $20 less than the Piano and Keyboard METHOD (300 lessons). My point is that Both software programs have the SAME cover so be careful when purchasing!!!

I think this is a great product. It walks you through the basics and when you start playing the music has numbers on it that match up to your fingers (1-5) so you can play as you get the hang of reading music. Gradually they remove some of the numbers so your music reading skills improve. The software grades your playing with a percentage score, and gives you details on your errors (if you want them). Also, it includes short videos of a person playing piano so you can see proper posture and such. Each song comes with (optional) accompaniment, which can make it funner to play (especially with the simple songs).

I always wished I hadn't given up on learning piano, so I dusted off my keyboard and got Piano Method. I already know some basic stuff but navigating is very easy, so I got right into the section I needed to be. This product does a great job of building on concepts methodically that make learning easier. If you have a MIDI keyboard be sure and get a USB MIDI cable. When you play any of the songs included, after you are done learning the program shows you on the picture of the keyboard, what mistakes you made. It is very helpful. I am about 1/2 way through the program and am playing some songs. The songs included aren't ok but I am now able to learn some pieces of other songs from a few books of various bands I like. Piano Method teaches you how to read as you are going along, so you can really learn anything you like.

I have been using the program for about six weeks and it has been the most significant reason why I am advancing quickly in my ability to play the guitar. I have also taken a few lessons with a teacher, bought another basic beginner book/DVD and found videos on the internet. Each of those, and practice, certainly has helped me get some basic skills, but this program has been the key for me. The program jumps in pretty quickly and allows you to play along to songs within a few minutes. It starts with very basic chords and then keeps building on what you have learned and you progress. Being able to watch the computer screen and hear the music along as you play is great for getting skills in reading music and keeping a steady beat. It is easy to use and you can take anything at your own pace. I have gone back to the beginning numerous times and walked through all the songs as practice, and it is amazing how you were struggling with a song just a few days ago, and now you can knock it right out. I would recommend it strongly. I don't think it is appropriate for young kids, but I expect anyone in their teens or older would fine this program very helpful.

I bought emedia guitar primarily for my 6 year old son as I thought it would be a pretty good start for him to learn a hobby with me as I have never played guitar either. Slightly too advanced for him, so I ended up with a more basic package for him, however I ended up following the lesson plan through into the late hours of each night and I love it. The direction is awesome and I have learned many songs already. Not little kids songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb, but more like Bob Dylan and Rod Stewart songs. Highly recommended as a product for anyone that only has about 30 minutes a day to practice on your own time and not an instructor that you need an appointment with. I am currently working on the song LaBamba. Not quite as easy as Knockin on Heavens door, but I will get it.

I'm a guitar instructor who teaches a once a week high school guitar class. I've started recommending Emedia to my students as a great at home guitar program. As an instructor, I really like the step by step approach to the lessons. The video are very helpful in demonstrating techniques between lessons. Kids that are using the program progress a lot faster than those that don't. This is a fine program either for those that want to learn on their own or that are also taking lessons.

I got a guitar and this program for my birthday and am progressing in my guitar playing really well. The lessons are very well laid out and progress in a very logical way. It includes videos of both hands demonstrating techniques. Techniques are then incorporated into popular songs. These same techniques translate into other songs. I got a few song books to go along with Guitar Method. I'm getting into some of the harder songs now and I really like how you can slow down a song while practicing it. This is a good product for someone who likes going at their own pace, and mine seems to be fast.

I am an adult beginner. I can read music, but my primary problem is keeping the proper rhythm. The lessons grade performance and highlight timing errors, and with practice, I can get over 90% on a lesson. They are really helpful, but they do require a MIDI keyboard. All in all I am completely satisfied with the software.

They need to update the software. Old tech, to get full screen you need to mess with desktop settings etc... It's very obvious they have not given this software any serious attention after it was released. That said it does what it's supposed to. Ignore the single star folks; don't know what they are talking about. It doesn't matter what the songs are when you are learning to play the piano. It's all about practice so YOU THAT YOU CAN GO PLAY WHATEVER YOU WANT. If you can already read music and play the keyboard, buy the intermediate course. It's very well done, but it's all classical music. For me, I'm self taught and play by ear. I bought this so I can get real feedback while I'm playing. So if playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Row Row Your Boat gets me there I have no problem with it. It still challenges me to read the music and master left, right hand.
