My kids love this guitar. it doesn't stay in tune very well, but it's a small price to pay. Also, the amp is a little louder than I'd like, parents beware

I mostly agree with Jennifer's review but I wanted to add a few technical complaints that might be helpful. As will be obvious, I am not a guitar expert (not even close) but even I can see some of the pros and cons of this guitar. The good news is that the body and neck are well made and feel very solid. Jennifer is definitely right about that. With proper care, this guitar will last awhile. Most of the problems I have center around the tuning. I think this guitar could use better machine heads (the tuners). The way these are geared does not seem to allow for very fine tuning. I am not sure but they seem to slip as well. I think the guitar requires a little bit of intonation adjustment as well. Forgive me, for I probably don't have the right vocabulary for this description. At the opposite end of the string from the tuners is a pivot point which is adjusted by a screw. By adjusting the set of that screw you can make the string slightly longer or shorter. Different length of string equals different vibrational frequency. The frets on a guitar are only placed for the right intonation if the string length is right. In other words, if that screw isn't adjusted right, when you play the open fifth string and then play the 12th fret of the fifth string, you will not be hearing an octave interval. So if you are willing to buy decent machine heads (~$50 or so I am told), put them on yourself, buy a little bit better set of strings and to adjust the intonation a little you can end up with a good solid kids guitar for about $140. That is a very reasonable price for a kid's beginner instrument of good quality. As I said, I am no expert. I have pieced this critique together from talking to a guy who knows guitars and from what I know about the science of vibration analysis. If someone who is truly knowledgeable about guitars and who has seen this product disagrees, please set me straight in the comments. So, in summation, I think this is a very good product that needs a little work. My little girl loves everything about it. I just want the guitar to really be in tune and to stay in tune as she rocks it.

I wanted to get my 3 year old daughter a toy guitar to play around with. I looked up some on Amazon and the majority of the ratings for the toy guitars (this one wasn't rated) were awful. So I decided not to get any of the other guitars and figured I'd take a chance with this one even though there was no feedback. I couldn't believe it when I opened the box--a real "miniature" guitar! It has steel strings, a mini amp that works, a few guitar pics and an adjustable guitar strap--I embroidered her name on it. It is a bit heavy for my daughter (I only let her play with it for maybe 10 minutes at a time--I don't want her back to go out : ) I believe the recommened age is 5-7 years so she will grow into it. It is a shiny painted wood finish with shiny metal accents. Every body that I have showed it to can't believe I only paid $99. for it. I would highly reccomend it to any parent looking for a starter guitar for their child. The other kid guitars were priced between $20-60 and the ratings were very poor. It is worth it to spend the extra money and get the real deal.

My grandson loves the way it looks and has no trouble with the little amp, but we haven't been able to get it tuned at all! Other reviews had suggested that it might be hard to keep in tune, but we assumed it could be tuned.J. Reynolds Mini Double Cutaway Electric Guitar Prelude Pack - Rockin' Red

Hello, I bought this for my 5 year old nephew because he is very interested in learning to play guitar. I did receive it promptly and well packed from Amazon. There are several problems with this guitar and it is not playable. When I received it the first thing I noticed was that the paint finish of the guitar was peeling off. No big deal for a cheap $[...] guitar but that was the least of the problems. 1.) It does not stayed tuned at all for more than 1-2 strums/picks. 2.) All of the guitar strings had rust on them 3.) The amplifier worked once and then it stopped working I would not recommend buying this to teach a child... it does not work and it cannot be tuned.

This is a cute looking guitar with very nice paint finish. Little ones won't be disappointed but it won't stay in tune for a long time. You have to retune it before each use! Also, the kit includes the amplifier but not the DC adapter (so you have to buy one). You can still use batteries in the amplifier.

Bought one of these for our 8 year old for Christmas. It's nearly impossible to get it into tune by an experienced guitar player. After an hour's work, it got in tune but the tone is dull. And it won't keep a tune longer than about 2 chords. If you want a prop, there are far cheaper options, if you want something that your child can make music with, this isn't it.

I bought this on the advice of a friend who's bought several for his family. All of them are far better musicians than I, so perhaps you should take my review with a grain of salt. But my 7-year old loves it, and the fit and finish are better than I expected. The included amp works great, and even if my son has no interest in lessons yet, it's there for him to play with, which he does. It stays in tune better than my acoustic guitar as well. I really need to make a video of him singing though; his lyrics sometimes make Gordon Gano seem sane!

Samson C01UPAK USB Microphone and Podcast Package Samson C01UPAK USB Microphone and Podcast Package

this is perfect, did all what i wanted it to. its awesome.. one problem though, make sure ur software is compatible with this mic, cuz there are alot of issues with usb mics and softwared... like hearing audio and recording at the same time using an ASIO driver, as it can only address one at a time... so yah its a great mic does what it is meant it, but make sure ur software if compatible with a usb mic... second its mono, not stereo but i think thats said on the specs so no worries... still a great mic, just save ur sound project as stereo when finished

I took my time and researched the best mics for podcasting and unamiously settled on this great usb plug and play by samson...but for some reason it was riddled with issues. I thougt the sonar le 6 software that came with it would help...it was actually worse, shutting down sound altogether. I used their tech support who told me after all we did it must be a defective mic...I returned it and used this as an opportunity to upgrade to the co3u...no go,same problem. I have windows vista,it wouldn't record when plugged into the back of the unit however, would record when plugged into the front. The sound quality was awful ...I called tech support in order to work out the static sound, by the time I was finished with tech support it wouldn't record at all! I do have another unit that has windows xp, still awful sound and playback quality...is it possible that I had two defective mics in a row? I scoured the web, listened to innumerable reviews, and it worked fine for them...sound quality was beautiful and rich. It just didn't work for me. In any event one has already been returned and co3u is sitting by the door waiting for pick up.

I didnt buy this one, i bought the bundle with the stand and everything, but this is a great starting microphone. My Step Son uses it to record his vocals all the time, and didnt have a problem at all. Great Microphone!

The microphone works great! It got a little banged up in shipping, however... it seems that the mic stand base shifted out of it's place in the case (see picture)... it must of bounced around and hit the mic and dented it a little bit, but doesn't affect the performance of the mic. It's a solid, pro-quality microphone and very easy to hookup via the usb connection to your PC. I'm not fond of the recording software it comes with... there are better ones out there.

Great mic i love it its bin working so good for me great sound its perfect
